Frank Gashumba Speaks Out On Tribalism

Frank Gashumba came out to address the on going issue of tribalism that seems to be creeped in due to politics. Speaking to Journalists, he condemned all acts that are being done on people just because they belong to a certain tribe or country.

Recently he tweeted about tribalism in a statement that read, ‘I didn’t Choose my parents, am a Munyarwanda born and raised in Uganda. Proudly Ugandan’.

These whole issues were intensified by the political situation last week that left to the death of many innocent lives and others with fatal injuries.

Rioters in Kampala took the war on any one who looked like a westerner saying they are the reason as to why the country is in a sorry state. Besides tribalism, they reached a point of undressing every one who had on a yellow cloth on them.

In this time and era mixing any struggle with tribalism shows the highest degree of backwardness in the country. It is very barbaric for any fight to stand on grounds of tribalism. Why would someone destroy another person’s business just because they belong to a certain tribe.

Common sense will tell you that no one chooses which tribe to belong to but all of us find ourselves in places just because of the DNA we carry.

Every struggle losses meaning when the grounds it stands on are a cause of trauma to others. Whether you like it or not, they will also be forced to react in self defense and that will be the beginning of unrest in the country.

We should never forget our history, if anything we should learn from it otherwise we shall be moving in cycles.
