The president recently announced a total lockdown in the country for 42 days as a result of the fast-spreading coronavirus. This meant that almost all events in the country were brought to a halt, and this did not leave the sports world out.
With the sporting events suspended as well, FUFA has confirmed talks with the government over clearance to complete the 2020/21 season.
There are three competitions still running on the Federation’s Calendar. These include the StarTimes Uganda Premier League which is into match day 27. And also the FUFA Big League at Play off stage. The last competition is the Stanbic Uganda Cup that is currently at the semi-finals stage.
‘’FUFA will communicate new dates in due course after obtaining the necessary clearance from Government,’’ a statement from the Federation said in part.
It remains unclear whether the government will give the federation a green light or not.
