Taking to his socials, the Kikankane singer said that he will be buying a one way ticket to the Pearl of Africa. This is because it’s time to give the culture new life, direction and vision.
According to the Baboon Forest CEO, he has observed that hip-hop is being misused and mismanaged. This is despite its potential to educate and uplift many communities and those who dwell in it. Therefore, he feels it’s a responsibility of his to put the game where it belongs.
“Dear Forest, I’m buying a one-way ticket to Uganda. It is time to give the culture new life, Direction and Vision. I observe that Hiphop is way too underutilised, misunderstood, misanalysed, criticised, and mismanaged. This is yet it has the potential to uplift, educate, communicate and change the trajectory of the youth and communities opening up infinite opportunities !!!! I’m coming home hope to see you all. Together Tunawakilisha.” he posted.
The rapper rose to the limelight in 2009 with his Soda Ginjale song. He then followed it up with other massive hits such as Ani Yali Amanyi, Kikankane, Kakana, Mr. Right among others. He’s credited for popularizing local hip-hop/lugaflow at a time it was barely embraced by Ugandans.
He however relocated to the US with his Jewish wife. This was partly to pursue an acting career in Hollywood that doesn’t seem to have materialized well.
