He said these people are always hyping up these young Ugandans on social media while seated at home watching them get arrested.
There are so many young people who have been and others who are still in prison because of rioting. Most of them support the opposition political parties like NUP, FDC, DP and many others.
There are young people who were arrested during the 2021 general election campaigns and are still in prison.
They haven’t been released, and opposition political figures are fighting for them to get out of prison. There are others who just disappeared because police say they don’t know their whereabouts.
According to Hon Kiwanda, it is not right for these young people to be in prison. However, police and the government have to do everything to protect Ugandans.
He said before these young Ugandans start moving around disturbing the peace of the general public, they should first look at people influencing them. What they are doing for their lives.
Kiwanda told Ugandans that some of these influential figures even tell young Ugandans to riot while they are protecting their children in the USA and other developed countries.
“What concerns me is that these young individuals are being influenced by influential figures to engage in rioting. These people are always protecting their children taking them to the USA when there are such riots and poor young Ugandans are taken to prisons,” he said.
