This feud ended up taking some people to jail. UCC immediately came up with a few regulations including changing the time gossip shows ought to air.
Almost, every station has a gossip show on their lineup. This means programs have to be revised. However, it’s going to get tricky working within the time UCC has ordered them to air.
The question is, will they keep their audience?
The hour of 10pm most times is very packed because already there are programs that were there that people were following. It is going to take some time for both the presenters and their viewers to adjust to this.
The issue of inviting guests now is going to be tricky because 10pm is really late given the times we are in. The station may have to put in a lot for a guest to come at that time because of the curfew existence right now.
Another issue is the sponsors may pull out because that time may not be audience-packed like the time they have been used to.
Meanwhile, there is a lot to ask oneself. Did the station owners try sitting down with the UCC team? Did they try fighting for their patent rights because it looks as though this was a swift thing to do? No fight was put up at all.
