He said that it is disgusting and instead of not supporting them in that way, they should not collaborate with them.
In Uganda, collaborations are a big thing and it is hard for an upcoming artist to do a project with a big musician. Most of the time they are despised by those artists.
According to Grenade, listening to young artists and their stories with established musicians is heartbreaking. He said that Ugandan musicians don’t help each other enough.
He also claimed that other artists from different countries help each other. This is apparently why they are progressing in their country. But in Uganda, if one isn’t ready to collaborate they shouldn’t.
“As artists, we can be disgusting, when you hear the stories from young artists, it’s shocking. We don’t help each other enough. Don’t collaborate with someone if you’re not going to support them all the way,” he said.
It should be noted that some musicians especially female upcoming artists have exposed the established artistes.
They have accused the male musicians of asking them for sexual favours in order to collaborate with them. Others say they have been asked so much money but still, the song isn’t pushed to where it is supposed to be.
