Halima Namakula On Why She Is Highly Respected

Legendary singer Halima Namakula has revealed reasons why she is highly respected especially in the entertainment industry. She has been in the music industry for more than 20 years and young artistes still look up to her.

They go for advice on how to go about life and music in general which is not the case with other legendary musicians. Halima also makes appearances in traditional ceremonies and she is always invited to speak to young girls.

According to the singer, some musicians especially those of her age don’t usually mind about the industry. This is because they have done their part and are now focusing on their own life.

For her to keep being respected and also catch up with the young generation, she sets her standards high specifically for herself.

The talented singer revealed that in dealing with the young, you have to know what their life is all about. You also have to live their life which is very difficult for old women like her.

She is also a grandmother and to keep up with her grandchildren, she needs to be updated in everything. This includes technology but without losing a touch of tradition.

“I always set high standards for myself and I think that is why I am respected that much. It is not easy for people like us to catch up with the young generation because a lot has changed,” she said.
