Apparently, from the NUP camp too, Bobi Wine will be in the area as well. However, according to the RDC of Kayunga, Bobi Wine is not welcome in that place especially today.
This is probably the reason why heavy deployment has been seen around. It looks like Bobi Wine is not willing to stay away from Kayunga as suggested by the RDC. In fact, even around his home, he reported military presence this morning up until now.
What does all this communicate though? Is it still possible to have peaceful campaigns after this deployment?
Speaking to the media yesterday, the RDC of Kayunga said if Bobi Wine insists on going there, they shall see what to do from there. This statement can mean nothing but also a lot of things.
Meanwhile, the district has become more personal to both NRM and NUP. Both parties have a cause for this competition that is perhaps overboard.
NRM is seeking to recapture the district taken over from them by the opposition while NUP is seeking to maintain the district won in the January general election by their candidate Ffeffekka Sserubogo who unfortunately died in June.
There is a point to prove for both parties, no wonder the competition is mostly between them.
