Hon Aisha Kabanda Reveals Why The MK Movement Was Rebranded

The woman MP for Butambala district Hon Aisha Kabanda who belongs to the National Unity Platform has revealed why the Muhoozi Kainerugaba Movement (MK Movement) rebranded to the Patriotic League of Uganda.

While on a local TV interview, Aisha Kabanda said that the MK movement is just a wing of the NRM and they are trying to tap into the youth.

The politician who was once in the NRM said that the ruling party figured out it has lost touch with the youth who are predominantly the majority in the country. And their plot was to send the first son, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

However, the member of Parliament doesn’t think this will help a lot. This is because there is no way Muhoozi is a youth and will understand the young people’s plight.

“The ruling party went to a round table and diagnosed that they have lost touch with the young people who are the engine of this country. They then decided to front Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba to tap into them. And all this happens because of the support NUP has garnered from the young people. But I don’t think Muhoozi is a youth and will spark the necessary results,” she said.

It should be recalled that different cabinet ministers, MPs, politicians, and hundreds of MK supporters yesterday gathered in Naguru. This was for a function to turn the MK Movement into the Patriotic League of Uganda.

According to some of the voices from this function, they are now ready to cause the necessary change legally. They will start engaging in mobilization and other political activities without any repercussions.

Additionally, they laid out their core points some of which include putting an end to corruption and reviving patriotism.

Muhoozi, however didn’t attend the function. Despite still being a serving military officer, he’s been engaging in activities deemed political, a thing contrary to the Force’s policies.
