Among these are his last words to his deputy, Hon Anita Among. Hon Among who is the Deputy Speaker of Parliament flew together with the Chief Justice Alphonse Owiny-Dollo and DP president Nobert Mao to Seattle where Oulanyah was hospitalized.
They had the honor of being with the Omolo County MP as he breathed his last. All of them came out to assure the country that things would be alright. They also urged the public to pray for him.
And as some myths have it that when one is about to die, they start to reminisce the things they love to do the most. It seems to have been the case for the fallen Speaker as he talked to Hon Anita Among.
“I miss putting on my bow tie. I miss putting on my suit. And I miss going through the rules of procedure” Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah told Deputy Speaker Anita Among when he had some strength and had recovered a bit. Among visited Oulanyah in his sick bed in the USA,” the Ugandan Parliament tweeted onto their Twitter page.
The President took to his Twitter page yesterday to announce the sad and tragic news to the country. Other countrymen then proceeded to send in their tributes and more are still flying in.
The cause of his death is yet to be revealed. Rumors however have it that he succumbed to stage four colon cancer.
Daily Monitor however is quoted to have said that the late Speaker’s father said that his son didn’t die from natural causes.
