Hon Nsereko Questions The Integrity Of UNMF In Kato Lubwama’s Burial Program

Kampala Central member of Parliament Hon Muhammad Nsereko has questioned the integrity of Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) in Kato Lubwama’s burial.

He said they haven’t planned anything, and they are not involved. This is yet Kato Lubwama has even been one of their members.

The UNMF is just a month old. It was unveiled in May 2023 although it has been in the news ever since it was formed. Eddy Kenzo, who is the current president, said it was formed to help musicians get all rights to their music.

As an elder and someone who has been in the music industry for so long, Kato Lubwama joined the federation. Unfortunately, he has died before achieving anything in it.

As a person who has been part of them, one would expect the Federation to be much involved in his burial. But that is not the case and Hon Nsereko as Kato Lubwama’s friend is not happy with it.

According to Hon Nsereko, the way Kato Lubwama was dedicated to make the Federation work, it would be shameful if it keeps behind his burial.

He said he expected the federation to be the people that are leading in everything physically. Not just coming and speaking for the sake.

“I don’t know much about Uganda National Musicians Federation but I am disappointed in them. Their presence is nowhere during the burial process of the late Kato Lubwama yet he was part of them and very dedicated,” Hon Nsereko said.
