House Of Representatives Vows To Impeach Trump If Pence Won’t Act

The house moved on two different fronts on Sunday in an attempt to force President Donald Trump out of the white house. They escalated pressure on Vice President Mike Pence to strip the president of his power. They also want to begin a quick impeachment against him.

The proceedings against the president are for inciting a mob to violently attack the seat of the American government.

In a letter to colleagues, house speaker, Nancy Pelosi of California said the House would move forward on Monday with a resolution. They will call on vice president Mike Pence and the cabinet to invoke the 25th amendment. This will be in an attempt to wrest the powers of the presidency.

She also called on Mr. Pence to respond within 24 hours and indicated she expected a Tuesday vote on the resolution.

What the democrats say;

She, thereafter, said the House would bring an impeachment case to the floor not specifying how quickly it would move. Leading Democrats said they could press forward on a remarkably quick timetable, charging Mr. Trump by midweek with ‘’high crimes and misdemeanors.’’

‘’In protecting our Constitution and our democracy, we will act with urgency. This president represents an imminent threat to both. As the days go by, the horror of the ongoing assault on our democracy perpetrated by this president is intensified and so is the immediate need for action,’’ she wrote.

Mr. Pence is, however, said to be opposed to the idea. Ms. Pelosi’s actions however, effectively gave Pence an ultimatum: use his power under the constitution to force Mr. Trump out by declaring him unfit to execute his duties, or make him the first American president to be impeached twice.
