The number of opposition members is obviously higher than 15. Before the voting process, opposition were assuring allegiance to their fellow, so what happened?
National Unity Platform has a total of 58 members, FDC has 35 and DP has 8Mps. This is a total of 104 MPs, but not even half of them stood with Ssemujju. What does this say about the opposition.
Are they fighting for the same thing? Or they are trying to communicate something. As a matter of fact, if all of them had unitedly stood behind Ssemujju, then it would make a statement. He however didn’t even get all the votes from his own FDC members.
Speaking to the media yesterday, Hon. Zaake said their mission is to make Museveni cry by denying him want her wants. Did this mean voting for Kadaga because at least we know, the president was standing by the party’s decision, Jacob Oulanya.
Otherwise, it doesn’t make sense for opposition to speak a different language now because their parties don’t matter now.
In any case, the speakership race is now done with Jacob Oulanya on the wheel. Next step is the president appointing his ministers and opposition voting for their leader.
Automatically, NUP is going to take this because they have the highest number of opposition members. Sources are speculating Hon. Medard Ssegona to take this crown.
