How Come Ugandan Musicians Are Not Solidly Behind Bobi Wine?

Isn’t it really absurd how musicians are not solidly behind Bobi Wine, now Presidential Candidate. Isn’t it supposed to be them selling him to the people plus his manifesto. It would make a lot of sense if they showed unity by standing with a brother in business.

Is it that they doubt his capability, or they are not sure about his qualities as a leader.

At the beginning of Kyagulanyi’s course, very many musicians had showed interest in supporting him to the extent of releasing a song entitled ‘enguule’. Some even crossed from the National Resistance Army Camp like Jose Chameleon, Full Figure among others. In just a blink of an eye, Full Figure had gone back to the NRM camp.

What could the problem be? Recently, Ronald Mayinja a renown supporter of National Unity Platform also crossed to NRM. His excuse was that after releasing the NRM song, the NUP supporters offended him verbally so he decided to wholly support NRM. This obviously can’t be good for him because support from his field mates would add a lot to him.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to affect the thick-skinned presidential aspirant because he has gone ahead with his campaigns. This has however showed the disunity among the musicians now more than ever.

It seems for most of them, money received from other parties is greater than supporting a brother who could change their industry.

Musicians have always ranted about being left behind by the government. Now that there is a chance to put someone who is in the same business with them, how come they are so reluctant?
