Destructive habits, how do you get rid of them before they become dangerous? Most people actually want to think that everything that is happening to them or anywhere started today. Whether it’s good or bad, one thing you should know about destructive habits is that it’s usually a process that starts small and grows. This time around we shall concentrate on the bad things that happen to us, the habits, character, failures and so on.
It always starts as something negligible, something you can shake off when you feel like. The funny bit of this is that these things don’t just go away.
A good example is the habit of spending without saving. The first time you spend all your money, you will console yourself with ‘i will save next time’. By the time you actually realize, it’s 10 years of working with zero money on your account to justify your sweat.
Then there is alcohol and drug addictions, sex addictions, etc. All these habits start small and keep growing if left unchecked.
The earlier you know that you have a problem the better. Most times we sweep things under the mat and forget that some day we shall have to actually remove the mat. It’s so easy to solve a problem when it’s still at the foundation. However, this is something I can’t say for a habit that has overstayed its visit.
Ask yourself these questions;
Do I have a problem?
Do I want to do away with it?
Do I need help?
That is where you can start from. It is very important to know what you’re struggling with when people can still help you, when you don’t have to spend millions of money.
