Nwagi says that she used to do folk music while she was still in school. However, when she joined the mainstream industry, she decided to take on the sellable genres.
She still tries to employ the style in some of her music and some of her songs can be categorized in the genre.
“I used to sing folk music while in school, and when I joined the music industry. I wanted to bring folk music to life. However, I decided to go a bit more commercial and adopted the mainstream genres such as dancehall and Afro beats,” Nwagi said.
The at-times controversial singer also complimented her good musical ear. Nwagi says that when she listens to a good song, she will definitely stand up and dance.
It’s the reason she did her Musawo song whilst singing and dancing at the same time.
“When I listen to a good song, I will definitely dance. For me, if it’s good music, then I’ll dance to it. That’s why I came up with a song called ‘Musawo’ where I dance and sing at the same time.”
The self-styled Firebaby also listed her favorite song amongst her own catalog.
Nwagi said that she loves performing all her songs but her favorite is the Amaaso collabo with her label mate, Vinka.
The ‘Sasi ku nyama’ singer said that most people didn’t expect the pair to do a love song but rather a dancehall one.
“I love performing all my song but ‘Amaaso’ is my favourite because no one expected me to do a love song with @IamVinka. Most people would expect a dancehall song,” she further revealed.
Despite having cultivated a no-nonsense controversial stature, Nwagi is absolutely talented without a doubt.
