He said he was just misunderstood and misquoted by the media to blow everything he said out of proportion.
Eddy has been trending for the past few weeks. At first it was for the good which was Grammy nomination. Now it is for the bad statement he made about the late Ugandan singer Philly Lutaaya.
After re-doing the Born In Africa song, Eddy Kenzo was criticized saying he didn’t do justice to it. He was called out for not putting in much efforts to do better.
However, with all that pressure, he was forced to make some statement that are not appropriate.
In a press conference, Eddy Kenzo said he is better than Philly Bongole Lutaaya and all his songs are bigger than his. However, he now says he didn’t make those statements in a malicious way.
He just made them because people were over talking about the Born In Africa he re-did as if it was going to take him to places he has never been too.
As a fan of Philly Bongole Lutaaya, Eddy Kenzo said he did Born In Africa for the good to keep the legacy of the late going on.
“I was misunderstood and misquoted by the media. The statement I made was cut and only two sentences made rounds. My context of the interview was to tell people that I did the song in good faith. It is not the the song was going to take me to places I have never been. People just like seeing others crying,” Eddy Kenzo said.
