I Will Retire From Music At 50 Years – Jose Chameleone Reveals

Joseph Mayanja popularly known as Jose Chameleone is indeed one of the most iconic and legendary musicians in the Ugandan music industry.

It will never be possible to replace him once he retires from the music industry.  Well, we still have 8 years to enjoy the superstar.

Chameleone who broke into the limelight in the late 1990’s has surely had a stellar career.

His career has spanned a period of over two decades with monstrous hits over the years and numerous awards.

The ‘Valu valu‘ Hit maker while appearing in an interview with Galaxy FM said that he’s no longer young as a few years ago.

He therefore plans to vacate the music industry when he gets to the age of 50.

“Right now am 42 years and it’s true am no longer energetic as I was before. I can nolonger go around stages jumping. I have been around the music industry since I was 13 years. I’m going to step down for the younger artistes.” Chameleone said.

Jose Chameleone has mentored a number of musicians 

These include his brothers Weasel, Pallaso and the late singers Ak47 and Moze Radio.

The singer despite his controversies has surely had a great pillar he has put on to the music industry.

He’s not only influential in Uganda, but as well as East Africa and Africa at large.

In starting to prepare for life after music, the singer has in the last year’s slowed down his pedal in the music arena.

He ventured into politics running for the office of the Kampala lord mayor.

Chameleone however lost miserably but that might not be the end of his political calling.

The singer revealed how he had gone back to school at Cavendish university to further his education.
