This came after promoters through their association set a standard price for each artist in their concerts around Kampala. Most of the artistes were devalued and they were not happy with the prices that were tagged on their names.
As the president of artists, Cindy couldn’t stay quiet. She had to speak for her artists because that’s why they voted for her.
According to her, there is no reason for anyone to set a standard price for an artiste. She said if a promoter feels like they can’t afford an artist, they shouldn’t book them.
Cindy said no one is supposed to force an artist to step down to their standards. She also added that people should reduce their familiarity with artists and value their work.
“If you can’t afford an artiste, don’t hire them. You can’t force an artist to step down to your standards. Mukendeeze akamanyiro please,” she said.
However, Cindy is not the only one who wasn’t happy with the promoters. Singer Spice Diana also added her voice asking promoters where they get the audacity to rank something they haven’t invested in.
“Promoters are not serious. Where do they get the audacity to price what does not belong to them? Artists invest time, money and energy to be in favor of fans, who become the revenue for these promoters.” Spice Diana said.
