“I don’t have faith in the NRM Caucus, and if you do, I think you need to see a doctor. They gather to sing praises to President Museveni. They don’t discuss anything of national interest.”
Gawaya says Ugandans have to question those in power in what is really happening in the country. This is in regard to the high prices in commodities that are even basic.
“We need to question those in power about how they are managing this. We need to investigate what is driving this inflation before making a conclusion.”
Meanwhile, according to him, it’s not as though prices have gone high, he says money has lost value in the country and that is the actual problem.
“Ugandans have a short memory. We tend to be excited about things today, and tomorrow we have forgotten about it. I don’t think the prices of commodities are going up. It’s the value of our money that is going down.”
Gawaya Tegulle also says the quickest solution to what is going on is to change the government. Furthermore,he added that strategic people need to be put in power to run the country.
“What needs to be done is the change of government. We need people who are strategic in management. My problem with this government is that for one half, they don’t give a hoot. And the other half, don’t know what to do. We need a government that is strategic in planning. Things like trucks being stuck at the border and the Russia – Ukraine war are things that could have been foreseen.”
