This was after a slated performance he had in Canada.
While appearing in an interview with Sanyuka TV, Ykee Benda said that he won’t pretend like all is fine with Dre Cali. First and foremost the time and resources wasted on him are irreversible.
The Farma singer said that whereas money can be worked for and recovered, time can’t be regained.
“I won’t pretend like everything is fine about Dre Cali. I’m so much disappointed in him and his actions. He made us waste a lot of time and resources on him. To be honest I think I had injected about 200m shillings into him because we had so far shot 5 music videos plus other things. Whereas money can be recovered, time can’t. The team at my label was so invested in him but he disappointed us,” Ykee Benda said.
The reason why Dre Cali never returned to the country has not yet clear. However, by the time he left for the slated performance, he had a lawsuit filed against him by Wyse Technologies as he had been their artiste before running away from his contract.
Ykee Benda and Dre Cali had been the face of Mpaka Records. The two were so tight and Ykee always made sure to promote Dre Cali sometimes at his own expense.
He always pushed him through his social media pages and it’s clear that the former UMA president was proud of his discovery and investment.
