DJ Jacob Omutuuze Reveals Ugandan Music Industry Has Failed

DJ Jacob Omutuuze Reveals Why Artistes Prefer Influencers To Mainstream Media

Radio presenter DJ Jacob Omutuuze has revealed why different artistes prefer influencers over mainstream media. He said that social media is better at distributing music and they are not even that hard to find; in the mainstream media, it is hard to find people to give music.

Omutuuze has been in the media for so many years. He has worked with different musicians both young and old. He has at the same time had issues with musicians.

Some accuse him of stopping their music from being played on the radio station that he works at.

According to Jacob Omutuuze, it is very hard for the upcoming musicians to trust media personalities. He said that the media houses have standards and they don’t play every kind of music.

For influencers they don’t care, all they want is money. They will push the song no matter what it is and they don’t care about the quality of it.

“The music industry once valued music itself. Now, musicians pay influencers to promote their work because we made it hard for them to trust us with their content,” he said.

It should be noted that Omutuuze is always attacking musicians who don’t agree with him. He has had issues with artists like Feffe Bussi and Eddy Kenzo who he was best friends with sometime back. It is therefore not surprising that these singers no longer trust them.
