The Makanika singer said that in 2019, he suffered a severe depression. This was after his concert and although successful, its aftermath was tough. This was what almost sent him into a crazy state. According to John Blaq, he was at the peak of his music powers when the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
Everything was locked down for almost two years and musicians too felt the heat. He said that he used up all his money and became bankrupt.
However, he’s glad that God came through for him and helped him to remain steadfast. If that wasn’t the case, drugs or any other calamity would have finished him because it was really terrible.
“I underwent a severe depression in 2019 and the time during the lockdown. My concert had just ended and although it was successful, the money that I got from it couldn’t sustain me in the lockdown. It was only God that kept me going otherwise people would have heard that I succumbed to drugs or maybe got hit by a car,” he said.
The singer even went as far as offering himself as a case study for others who are going through tough times. They never last according to the singer and they should confide in God.
