Releasing albums is something not common in the Ugandan music industry. Most musicians release one song at a time. They always claim that it is expensive to put an album together and on top of that, it doesn’t bring in money.
However, a few musicians like Eddy Kenzo and Azawi who have released albums look to have made money from them.
This is because they are all continuously releasing more albums. Eddy Kenzo recently released his Blessings album and Azawi also said hers is ready.
According to John Blaq, he doesn’t want to listen to people who are discouraging him from releasing an album.
He said the big musicians are doing so meaning they are earning from it. The singer said his fans have been missing him so much. Therefore, he thinks giving them many songs at once will fill up the gap.
“I am yet to release my album and I am sure my fans will love it. There are people discouraging me from doing that but I think it is the right thing to do at the moment. My fans are missing me,” he said.
