John Ssegawa Warns Eddy Kenzo And Other Artistes Against Eating Gov’t Money

Legendary actor, John Ssegawa has warned Eddy Kenzo and other artists against eating the government’s money. He made this statement during Kato Lubwama’s vigil at National Theatre.

Eddy Kenzo has been involving himself more in issues concerning the music industry lately. Last month he even unveiled a new Federation known as Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) to help him out.

He was appointed as the president of the Federation with other three deputies, Sheebah, Pallaso and Juliana Kanyomozi.

However, many people have been wondering about his motives for creating a federation yet there was an association known as Uganda Musicians Association (UMA). UMA led by Cindy Sanyu has been in existence for so many years and it has been handling musicians’ problems.

Veteran actor John Ssegawa is also among the people that question Eddy Kenzo and his federation.

There has been a rumor that it was formed specifically to get money from the government. According to John Ssegawa, artists need help from the government like any other Ugandan. But that shouldn’t be the go-ahead for musicians to get money for personal use.

He said the government has always looked for ways to manipulate the entertainment industry. If artists receive their money, it will be a pass for them.

John Ssegewa told Eddy Kenzo to be mindful of what he is doing because it can cost the whole industry.

“I have been in the entertainment industry for so many years and I have watched government neglect us. Im now seeing it trying to get in the middle of the industry because it is advancing. I am warning Eddy Kenzo and other musicians not to receive money from government,” John Ssegewa said.
