The journalist by career, will be addressing MUBS on September 14. She will speak about positioning oneself for the job market.
A leading economist and MUBS Principal Prof. Wasswa Balunywa is also going to deliver a keynote address during the session. This meeting will be online via zoom conferences from 2:00-3:00 PM.
The MUBS Career and Skills Development Centre director, Maureen Tweyongere, says students need deliberate preparation and planning. She said this is what it takes for them to find employment after graduation.
‘’Students need hands-on exposure to jobs, internships and volunteering opportunities,’’ Maureen said.
She also says that’s why MUBS runs an Annual Employer-Employee Exchange Programme to link students to the prospective employers.
The guest speaker, Sheila Nduhukire, previously served as a news anchor at NTV Uganda and NBS Television. She actively covered the Ugandan Parliament and regional politics as well as the 2017 Kenyan election, Rwanda election among others.
They also deployed her to cover the 2016 conflict in the restive Kasese District in which Government forces killed many unarmed people.
In 2016, the United Nations Population Fund recognized her as the best National news reporter.
