Karitas Karisimbi Claims To Be First Black Woman To Climb Mt. Rwenzori

Social media was left shocked yesterday after media personality Karitas Karisimbi said that she is the first black woman to climb Mt Rwenzori.

Karitas while appearing on NTV Mwasuze Mutya detailed her experience.

“I was the first black woman to climb to the peak of Mt Rwenzori. I went on this adventure to document the experiences for some tourists. It took us 5 days to reach the peak and 2 days to return,” she said.

This however left social media users baffled with some likening her to ancient British explorer John Speke who claimed to have discovered the source of the Nile in a place where natives already lived.

Karitas also revealed how she prayed to God to bring her a good man in her life. She said that she was desperate to get a good man before resuming her career and God answered her prayers.

“While I had a break from my media career, I asked God for a man. At that time I felt that I needed it to happen before I resumed my career. I wanted someone who was ready to have children. It did not matter if he first proposed or not. I needed him to be ready to care for his children. After I asked God for such a man, the Almighty delivered,” Karitas added.

She also revealed she always wanted to be like Oprah Winfrey when she grew up. Karitas recalled that they did not have a TV at home but she always ran to the neighbors to watch her idol.nShe indeed worked hard towards her dream and ended up on TV.

Karitas says that she created her ‘TheChatromm’ program to emulate Oprah’s.
