In Uganda, music battles were very common in the early 2000s. The people that used to battle each other were male musicians.
Bobi Wine and Bebe Cool staged a music battle which set the pace in the industry and made people enjoy themselves. However, other artists feared the battles because they can easily expose their weaknesses when it comes to their talents.
The recent music battle we had was between top female musicians. Sheebah and her long-time competitor Cindy Sanyu revived this battle spirit sometime last year. People had so much fans but on top of that, the artists made a lot of money from the battle.
According to Karole Kasita, she knows that she is talented and she doesn’t need a battle to show that. She said the only thing that can push her into a battle is money.
The singer revealed that even if one is talented or not, everyone is looking for money. Once she gets an opportunity to make money from the battle, she can go for it.
“If there is money, I have no problem. You can be talented or not but all we need is money as artists,” she said.
