The lost and found fellow, wrote a statement to Inspector General Of Police, Martin Ochola informing him about his intentions. In his letter, he says there is need to exercise this constitutional right especially given the situation at hand.
“Due to the rapid increasing fuel Prices that have frustrated our motherland’s economy because of individual selfish interests, we therefore inform you that we shall practice our constitutional right of holding a peaceful protest against the above situation for the betterment of our nation,” the letter read in part.
The high fuel prices has been and still is the talk around town. Not only are the prices high but also shortage of the fuel has become an issue.
Most people have blamed this on the selfishness of those benefiting from it.
The cause of the scarcity and high price is still not clear. However, fuel trucks have been seen stuck at different boarders because of the mandatory testing of truck drivers for Covid before entering Uganda.
Meanwhile, Katumba John has been rare since elections ended last year. He has been so quiet about most of the issues happening.
Perhaps he has been waiting for such a time to come out and speak for the people. However, Ochola is yet to reply to his request and then we will probably know what next.
