e told them to vote issues and not consider colors and symbols of different parties.
“Let us put politics and party colours aside and we vote issues. Don’t mind about voting for a person from your party. Let us vote for someone who will front the issues affecting the people of Kayunga rather than one who will oppose every project initiated by the central government.”
Muwonge said unlike the MP position, the LC 5 position needs someone who can extend services to the people. He assured the voters that he is that person apparently.
“We are not here for jokes. Unlike the post of MP, this position (LC5 chairman) means the holder must be one who will extend services to people. One who is truthful but above all knows the problems affecting people. I am that person,” Muwonge said.
The candidate assured voters that he is a man of his words. He insisted that he is not in the race for politics but to serve and unite people.
“This is a rare opportunity for the people of Kayunga to vote for one of their own. I am not here for politics but to serve you. I am here to unite the people of Kayunga because the fights in the district are our greatest disadvantage for many years because they have stagnated development.”
The Kayunga LC 5 by-elections are set for this month on the 16th. The competition is mostly between NRM and NUP candidates that is Andrew Muwonge and Harriet Nakweede.
