Kenneth Mugabi To Sell Each Copy Of His New Album At $100

Musician Kenneth Mugabi has told his fans that his new album will be going for US$100 a copy. He will not be releasing just one song as it has been in the past. He has decided to just release an album at once to let his songs grow one by one.

Currently, in Uganda shillings, $100 is approximately Ugshs350,000 to Ugshs370,000. Mugabi will only be releasing 50 copies of his album.

This means, those who want to listen to his songs must get their money ready.

Some people have said this amount is too much for just his music. However, looking at the kind of music that Kenneth Mugabi writes and sings, this price is just enough.

His songs are carefully put together, it’s like listening to a story. The authenticity of his writing is incredibly great and almost incomparable. But then, the market is used to free music.

Musicians have started this trend of releasing albums and if they can keep up with it, then it will be adapted. Azawi has been the most recent artist to do so.

Her album is currently trending all over the country. Ykee Benda did the same and he reaped. So far though, Kenneth Mugabi’s album is the most expensive probably because of his kind of audience.

It’s time for musicians to start earning from their music the right way. Releasing one song is not so effective looking at the lives of our celebrities.

It’s time for artists to accord a price to their work because they do an incredible job.
