It’s even putting them against each other yet they were united and used to work together before they came in.
The Ugandan music industry never used to be involved in politics at all. All they were focused on was making money and artists would go to perform anywhere they were invited and paid well.
Gears shifted when artists like Bobi Wine showed interest in Politics and challenged the government. That became a wake-up call for politicians to know the power musicians have and started pulling them close to themselves.
On many attempts, the government has tried to invest in the music industry. It has also tried to invest in different artistes not to support their own Bobi Wine.
According to Lil Pazzo, the government needs to leave the music industry alone. This is because they used to even do much better before they came in.
He also thinks that the promises the government is telling artists like the copyright law may never be fulfilled.
“I want to be open to this government, let them leave the music industry. All they are doing is confuse us. They are always talking about the copyright law. I think for the time they have talked about it, it should have been implemented a long time,” he said.
