In an African setting, parents who usually educate their children expect so much from them after school. They expect a child to finish school, get a job and start looking after them.
This in most cases is unrealistic. Some finish school and fail to get a job. Those that are lucky and get jobs, end up being paid very little money that doesn’t accommodate their life styles fully.
However, still parents expect their children to share the little they have with them. If these children fail to do so, they are seen as failures and selfish not to care about others.
According to little Joe, it is very absurd that parents expect all this from their children. He said as a parent, it is one’s responsibility to look after the child and not expect anything more in return.
The outspoken radio presenter said a child is supposed to give their late parents something. But, this is only when they feel like but not because they are forced.
“I am not happy with parents who ask for money from their children. Some parents are too much that they have to ask and if it not given to them they get very angry and upset,” he said.
