Ndawula who passed away last month was finally laid to rest in his home district of Lwengo. However, what’s shocking is that no artist showed up for either of his mass at Rubaga Cathedral or his burial in Lwengo.
This was a huge disappointment that Lucky Mbabazi took to her Twitter page to highlight.
A number of artists especially the veteran ones came out to pay tributes to Ndawula after his demise. The likes of Bebe Cool, Dr Jose Chameleone, Bobi Wine, Juliana Kanyomozi all paid homage to him.
They described him as a great pillar in rebuilding their careers. However, they never showed up at his funeral.
After Lucky aired her frustrations, some people came out to insult her. Others questioned whether Ndawula used to attend other late musicians burials. Lucky went ahead to express her frustration at these insults.
She said that at least one artist was impacted in one way or another by Ndawula. Therefore it would have been nice of them to show up at least for mass in Kampala.
Lucky added that some of these artists even called after the dates had been announced. It was therefore unfortunate that they didn’t show up.
“I asked a question and I am yet to get answers apart from the insults. At least one artist out of the thousands surely was impacted by Alex’s contribution to the music business. It would have been nice for him/her to show up at one of the farewell masses that were organized at least here in Kampala. We talked about the dates two weeks before on radio and even some called, but I guess they couldn’t make it,” Lucky vented her frustration.
