Lukwago’s Mayoral Seat Up For Grabs As Kampala Is Set To Elect New Lord Mayor Tomorrow

Kampala is set to elect the lord Mayor tomorrow, 20th,January 2021. The current Mayor, Erias Lukwago has been a people’s favorite for a long time. This however is not a guarantee that he will win tomorrow.

The competition is mainly between him, Ragga Dee, Chameleon and Naggayi Nabila Sempala of NUP.

It is so hard to predict who the winner will be after all the shocks we got in the recently held elections. We are tempted to think however that there is going to be a very stiff competition between FDC’s Lukwago and NUP’s Naggayi.

This time round the campaigns for Lord Mayor is nearly non-existent possibly because of Covid. On the other hand Lukwago was bedridden during most of the time when he would have campaigned.

It will entirely be up to Kampala residents to either paint the city red or blue. If there was anything to learn from the recently held elections, it’s to never underestimate your opponent. Especially in this atmosphere where people are just thirsty for change and something new in their county.

All in all, may the best candidate win. We shall not stop preaching the gospel of peace even as we vote for our Lord Mayor. Uganda is bigger than these elections.
