Makerere University Graduate Makes People Emotional After Going To Market To Thank The Mother

A fresh Makerere University graduate has got people talking after he took to the market clad in his graduation gown to thank his mother.

Educating a child from the lowest level to the highest level, University is one of the strenuous responsibilities parents have especially in third world countries.

These parents make a lot of sacrifices to make sure their children get an education. It is purposely to give them an education and life they never had.

That’s why they will do the oddest of jobs but make sure their children study. The student who is making rounds on social media after graduating went straight to the market, knelt down and appreciated his mother’s efforts.

The mother who in the picture looks like an ordinary Ugandan sells bananas and it really tells a lot. The picture even caught the attention of Makerere University Vice Chancellor Barnabas Nawangwe.

Taking to his Twitter account, Nawangwe posted “I salute this @Makerere graduate for showing humility and love for his mother. He went to thank her at her work place in the market.”

NTV journalist Sudhir Byaruhanga was also touched by this gesture and posted about it.

“Makerere University graduate kneels before his mother in the market to thank her for selflessly taking care of him and paying his tuition. Plz Retweet,” Byaruhanga tweeted.

Popular MUBS economics lecturer Ramathan Ggobi also had something to say about this picture ,”Could be one of my students. In class I often tell them on graduation day we, Africans, often cry while giving a speech. Particularly that moment when we are thanking our parents especially mothers. Mother’s everywhere are heroes but in Africa they’re beyond. Look at this!Folded hands” Ramathan Ggoobi tweeted.

Whereas some might see this gesture as an ordinary one because degrees are almost attainable nowadays, this student surely knows what the mother has invested in him.

We surely wish him all the best in his future and hope he continues to make his mother proud.
