Man Charged For Defiling His Friend’s 13 Year Old Daughter

A man identified as Kimanthi Mutua Josphat who is believed to be in his 40s was on Friday arraigned and charged in Makadara Court in Kenya over defiling his friend’s 13 year old daughter for over a year.

Kimathi was charged of committing the crime between 2012 in January and 4^th November 2013 in Kayole Nairobi.

He was a neighbourhood friend to the minor’s mother for over ten years period.

The suspect did the indecent act to the young girl whilst her mother was away to the Westlands where she does domestic work.

The health doctor called the minor’s mother on 4^th November 2013 and informed her that someone took advantage of her daughter by defiling her on several occasions.

The young girl took herself to the healthcare unit while complaining of abdominal pains and after carrying out the thorough examination, the the clinical officer found out she was defiled several times.

‘To tell you the truth, I was in a sexual relationship with a man,’she confessed to the medical officer.

The medical officer sent a text message to Kimathi and pretended as if she was the young girl and told him that she was pregnant and requested money for abortion.

Kimathi reportedly sent her Ksh3,500 and asked her to pass by his place after aborting promising to buy her gifts, including Teddy bears etc.

The minor’s mother reported the matter to the police which later tracked him.

He was arrested and arraigned to court, but he denied charges before the principle judge Kithinji Angelo. He was finally released on a bond of Ksh300,000 with a security equivalent to the amount.
