Pastor Bugingo ’s Bodyguard Shot Dead, Police Confirms The Assassination

Pastor Bugingo Attempted Murder Case, Police Provides Update

The Uganda Police Force has provided an update on the attempted murder case that involved  Pastor Bugingo, the House of Prayer International Ministries lead pastor.

It should be noted that Bugingo almost lost his life in a drive-by shooting that happened in Nansana. Unfortunately, his driver, Richard Tumusiime didn’t make it as he succumbed to the bullets.

This case however has had a lot of controversy about it with many disputing Bugingo’a story. And he has also done enough to keep it in the news. In his recent sermon, he expressed his disappointment in the Police Force for not providing any update since the incident.

As if answering his prayers, Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga in Monday’s police security briefing talked about the scenario. He said that as Police, they are still investigating what happened.

They haven’t had any conclusive evidence. All they have is that the gun used in this murder was the same used to kill blogger, Isma Olaxess last year.

Besides, Enanga assured Bugingo that a Police case can never decay no matter how long it takes. He highlighted the case of fallen, DPP, Joan Kagezi. According to Enanga, it took them 8 years but finally, justice was served.

“I want to shed light on Pastor Bugingo’s remarks about his case. The investigation is still going on. Apparently, the only proof we have is the pistol that was used. It’s the same used to kill Isma Olaxess. Apart from that, we have nothing and appeal to the public to come forward if they have any valuable information. I want to assure him that a case can never rot. For instance, it took us 8 years to nab the killers of Joan Kagezi but eventually we did,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bugingo asserted that a street camera was at the scene where the shooting took place . Therefore Police should have had a heads-up on where to start.

Despite pressure from some critics to show the bullet wounds, Bugingo refused and has gone ahead to insult them.
