All musicians especially African musicians work so hard to be appreciated and win notable awards like the Grammy. However, it is hard because the competition is very high, and new more talented musicians rise every day.
Martha Mukisa is looking at winning a Grammy as a dream. Her music hasn’t crossed Uganda’s neighboring countries so that she gets recognized. However, she has to dream like any other artiste as she works harder to see her music go places.
In Uganda, only one artiste Eddy Kenzo has ever been nominated in the Grammy awards. He didn’t win but he was so proud to see that he made it that far.
Most Ugandan artists didn’t understand how he got a Grammy nomination. According to Martha Mukisa, she can’t wait to be referred to as a Grammy award winner one day.
“One day I will be called #Grammy Award winner just like @tyla,” she posted.
It should be noted that Martha Mukisa has been in the music industry for almost five years. Her very first music concert at Freedom City was not all that a flop.
She has been trying hard although she sings mostly local language songs. The same applies to Kenzo. Perhaps this explains why he lost the Grammy in 2022.
