Mbarara City FC Appoints Caretaker Coach Hussein Mbalangu

Uganda Premier League side Mbarara City Football Club has appointed former Arua Hill Sports Club tactician Hussein Mbalangu. He will serve as their caretaker coach in the meantime as the club decides on who their head coach will be.

‘’Hussein Mbalangu will be the Care Taker manager for the mean time until the club management decides on who to be the head coach’’ a statement on the club’s social media accounts reads in part.

Previously, the Lions of Ankole had trusted Kefa Kisala in the position but the former Wakiso Giants and Express gaffer resigned. During Kefa’s resignation, he cited poor working conditions and lack of motivation.

Therefore, from now onward, Mbalangu will fill the vacant position on an interim basis. This is as the club management intensifies its search for a perfect candidate.

Mbalangu helped Arua Hill SC gain promotion to the top flight as 2019/2020 FUFA Big League champions. This came having beat Gaddafi FC in the finals.

The former Kyaggwe Ssaza team coach however, fell out with his former bosses at the ‘Kongolo’’ citing breach of the Club’s code of conduct. Therefore, they replaced him with Charles Livingston Mbabazi.

Last season, Mbarara City finished 7th on the UPL table standings with 38 points after 27 games played.
