Police arrested Kayz with two other colleagues, Bryan Kennedy Waako, and Williams Makuliro. These three work on Sanyuka TV under Next Media.
Apparently, on their show, Morning Xpress, the three presenters continually defamed OS despite all the warnings. They talked about Mr. Ssuuna’s family, his financial status and accused him of witchcraft.
“Journalists and people in the media should be careful when talking about people in the media to avoid making criminal statements. These four presenters made repeatedly offensive statements on television despite caution from the complainants,” Assistant Superintendent of Police Twiine said.
Meanwhile, Next Media has released a press statement about the ongoing situation. Apparently, the three have been denied their right to get bail.
“Resultantly, the three have been denied their rights to apply for bail over a matter arising from remarks on Sanyuka TV’s daily Morning Xpress show founded in Omunlagira Ssuuna’s own declarations and expressions. We are certain that justice will prevail at the end of it all and justification will stand,” the statement read.
This arrest has caused a lot of talk from fans and also fellow media personalities. Media personalities of course are standing with their people while some fans want to think the remanded deserve what happened to them.
Well, until the 15th of October, the three media personalities will have to wait before they come out of prison.
