MOH Orders All Unvaccinated Health Workers To Stop Working

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has ordered all unvaccinated health workers to vacate their work places with immediate effect.

A recent later dated 3rd December was directed to all chief Administrative Officers, Heads of National referral hospitals among other health chiefs.

In the letter, Dr. Henry G. Mwebesa the Director General Health services ordered a follow up on the vaccination of health workers.

According to Mwebesa, the government has prioritized vaccination of the population against COVID-19. He said this is being considered as one of the key requirements to fully reopen the economy and health workers have been given priority to take the jab.

Dr. Mwebesa noted that however the above not withstanding, he is aware that some health workers are still not vaccinated.

Consequently, he ordered all unvaccinated health workers to stay away from their work places until they are fully vaccinated.

“This is therefore to instruct all health workers who have not received vaccination against Covid-19 at all, must stay away from their respective places of work until they are vaccinated,” the letter said partly.

He also directed that health workers who have received the first dose should continue working but encouraged them to receive the second jab.
