Moses Matovu Claims Government Doesn’t Like Artistes

Legendary singer Moses Matovu has claimed that the government doesn’t like artistes like they pretend to. He said that they are just using artists for their own benefit but musicians ain’t benefiting anything from the government.

Several artistes have actively joined politics some being members of parliament and others leaders. According to Moses Matovu, the ruling government has worked hard to divide musicians. They use them against each other and it ends up working for them.

When Bobi Wine joined politics and even started competing against President Museveni for the presidential seat, that showed politicians how powerful musicians are.

Before that, politicians used artists to just campaign for them and after that, they always forgot about them. At the moment some artists and other entertainment people have been appointed as presidential advisors and are given other positions.

According to Moses Matovu, the positions given to musicians in government are not important at all.

“Government doesn’t love us and I want to let all artists to wake up especially those that think they are loved. I think as artistes, we are just being used but we don’t understand it. If we start fighting for ourselves that is when we will understand we have been used for a long time,”

It should be noted that artists and other entertainers have been fighting for copyright law but nothing has been done. They are surviving on promises only from politicians about the copyright law.
