Leave Religious Leaders In Peace-MP’s Warn Museveni

MPs have warned president Museveni over the pies that he has placed in worshiping areas to spy on religious leaders.

Lwanga said that he got an anonymous that revealed that they are actually spying on him.

“Let Museveni and his government be courageous enough to call Ntagali (for protestants ), myself or Mubajje (for muslims) and tell us the information they have about ourselves but some of those spies recruited  have been expelled from church and are only giving you false information. They will lead to his downfall,”Lwanga also said

After the allegation made by Lwanga, a group of catholic MPs have vowed to institute a commission of inquiry to investigate on government personnel spying religious leaders.

These MPs are led by Betty Nambooze who said that Religious leaders are mandated to talk for the vulnerable and oppressed.

Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda who spoke on behalf of the government said that the matter of religious leaders being spied is currently  handled by the presidency.

He said: “Museveni and the religious leaders are in typical contact to resolve this.”
