Campaigns have been going on for a while and as the day nears, they are just getting hotter. No wonder, the party Presidents have now stepped in to support their people.
Journalists have already set off to Kayunga to high gear for these campaigns. However, looking at the way they packed, you may think they are heading to a war zone.
People anticipate some bit of discomfort because the biggest political opponents are going to be in the same place. It is on rare occasions that these two are in the same place and peace transpires. If it happens today, it will be a great shocker.
There are about six candidates in this race from different parties. The competition, however, is between NRM and NUP. Andrew Muwonge is representing NRM while Harriet Nakweede is of NUP.
The competition has been carried on as it was during the presidential elections. The two have been aggressively campaigning in Kayunga assuring voters they are the best.
It should be remembered though that these are by-elections. According to the nullified election, NUP candidate was the winner but Muwonge ran to court which led to the cancellation of the elections.
The Electoral Commission set another date which is 16th December for fresh elections.
