The two moved hand in hand in matching clothes. They rocked grey with some red on them since Geofrey is an NUP member. Their joy could be read through the smiles on their faces.
Mr. Geoffrey Lutaaya, now honorable, is the Mp of Kakuuto County in Kyotera District. He is one of the musicians that managed to go through the elections. Lutaaya expressed his interest in politics just a few years ago and even went back to school.
He did this to qualify for the parliamentary sit which he did. It all seemed like a joke until he contested and won and now has sworn in.
Since a number of musicians made it to parliament this time round, a lot is anticipated. The music and arts industry has been having countless issues. There is the copy right law that is always on table but never solved.
Perhaps the presence of some musicians in parliament will push such bills to be passed into law so as to improve services of the music industry.
In this time of covid, the entertainment industry has surely struggled since they are still under lockdown. Up to now concerts are prohibited and most of the musicians have resorted to other avenues of getting money.
A few musicians who made it to parliament include: Dr. Hilderman for Mawokota , Rachael Magoola for Bugweri Woman MP, Geoffrey Kayemba, Rema’s former manager.
