So the question is who is justifying the laws that workplaces are imposing on their workers. If no one is justifying them, who is protecting workers from this mandatory vaccination that is supposed to be by choice. Last week Victoria University published a letter to all its staff informing them that they should take the jab or lose their jobs. Many people came out to criticize this move calling it unfair.
However, a lot of things should be put into consideration on both sides. First of all it’s important for all Ugandans to get vaccinated for purposes of immunity when the virus attacks. On the other hand, getting the vaccine is not a guarantee that you’re safe from the virus. People have also not been fully educated about this vaccine and how it works.
Besides the fears of what could happen after the vaccination, the doctors and health workers have said little about the same. This has left room for a lot of anticipation from sources that are so unprofessional. Otherwise, people would not be dragged to get the vaccine but rather they would be compelled to do so. All in all, everyone seems right in their own way.
