Dr. Kiiza Besigye has said no one invited him to the political arena. He says he invited himself to a great risk and sacrifice and so he is here to fight for his freedom.
“Besigye coming to the political arena was not on the invitation of anyone. I invited myself at great risk and sacrifice. I have tried to the extent I can to contribute to making the changes that I can. I am here to fight for my freedom.”
Kiiza Besigye says those who don’t want to fight with him can fight alone but at all costs a fight should be there.
“If you don’t want to fight with me, fight alone. Just make sure you’re fighting. If anyone wants to lead the front, let them come and lead it.”
He says there will be protests this year
“Protests will be there without a doubt this year whether I am alive or not. I don’t see how it can be avoided. We must set our own agenda. We must have control of our country. We have no Constitution. The Constitution is Mr. Museveni,” he added.
According to him the population is now moving ahead of them because politicians have shown some weaknesses in their leadership.
He says now politicians are following the population and those that weren’t appreciative of the dynamics are now appreciative. This according to him is great hope that they can rally together.
The four time presidential candidate says the fight is on for freedom from political arrest from the NRM. He says people don’t have to like him to join in, however the similar challenges can unite them.
“We don’t have to be friends. We just have to realize that we have the same challenges and have to work together to get out-of-this.”
