Walukaaga however says that he also expects to enjoy the rewards of his office in the next term.
The singer made the comments in regards to the pending reopening of schools in January. Walukaaga stated that the children of most singers won’t be able to go back to school.
This is because a majority of these lack the necessary funds since they have been out of work for 2 years.
“Many of the musicians’ children won’t be able to go back to school because we have not been working for two years now. I know this for a fact because I talk to a number of them. At times I send them some little money to use such as 20,000-30,000 shillings. So you can imagine where they will get fees. I also can’t give them that money because I’m using my first term in office to pay off my debts and serve the people. Maybe I will start enjoying the rewards in the next term,” Mathias Walukagga said.
The NUP stalwart has to make sure that he returns back to office lest he will follow the Kato Lubwama route.
The ex Rubaga South MP had always bragged about how he was in Parliament to eat money. He even told the voters to send him to eat and they also did.
On his second term, he told the people to vote for him so that he brings the loot and they eat together. This was however impossible as he was dislodged from the seat by NUP’S Aloysious Mukasa.
