The singer made this statement following comments by Ugandans about a young girl that was dropped off at her school in a helicopter.
It is said that it is the father who paid for it. Most Ugandans said that some parents are extravagant. Apparently, it was inappropriate for a father to treat his daughter in that manner when still in high school.
According to Naira Ali, some acts are actually not for rich people. She said she is not personally rich but she can do anything to make her daughter happy. The singer said 4-5 million shillings is not that much to spend on a helicopter ride for a child.
“I’m not rich but I will happily spend the 4-5 million for a 30-minute helicopter drop off on my daughter’s prom if it gives her an experience and a good time. I don’t see anything big about that,” she said.
It should be noted that Prom parties have in recent years become a show of financial muscle among parents. Many of them spend millions just for a few hours of fun for their children.
They hire all manner of expensive cars and wear some of the most expensive dresses or suits. This is all to impress their friends and perhaps a show off of sorts.
